You mean everyone hates selective coloring?

I like this shot. I like the composition, it's interesting and cute, too. I think that you did a great job on the selective coloring!

I'd desaturate the banana a bit.

I don't hate it at all ... all is fair game in my court and I agree with buurin. If you reduced the color saturation of the banana to even a hint of color you will find more balance to the image. The subject will be less stood up by the obvious visual distraction.

I really don't tend to like selective colouring at all...but credit to you; this is probably one of the best, if not - the best that I have seen.

I'm bordering on saying I actually like it. ;)

it's your call daystar ... looks good to me though note that the illumination levels drop when desaturation occurs so you may have to increase lightness or brightness.

Wow....I don't know what to say :o. I would have never expected such a nice compliment especially since I'm still so new and learning. Thank you very much. :)

Thanks for that tip. I hadn't thought about that but will watch out for it next time.

Actually, selective coloring in this case shows off the point. The little girl is looking at the banana and the selective coloring just helps draw the eye through the photo between the girl and the banana.
So, this isn't just random the way most selective coloring it, this is integral to the subject.
In other words, I like it.

I don't know why some people hates selective coloring. This one was done very well, great composition. Good job daystar.

I think its better, but I can't say if I'd like it more desaturated or not. I'd just play with it and see what appeals to you most.

My issue with the 1st is it looked very photoshopped, as if the banana didnt even exist in the original image. As Jetcode mentioned, perhaps the brightness levels not matching is what bothered me.
