I think people hate selective coloring of eyes more than anything. This picture fits the technique particularly well, and is really one of the better ones I've seen. I like the whole picture.

I really like the shot and the use of selective coloring. I like the first shot you posted with the bannana slightly oversaturated. IT's obvious from the type of photo that it's manipulated, so why not use the effect fully. I get pulled into the bright yellow first, then my eyes wander and take in her expression, textures of the wood bench, etc. But that's just me personally and I know nothing about what makes a good photo.

Thank you all so much! I think I'm more excited that you all like the actual image....the selective coloring seems secondary to me at this point. :)

Here is yet another version where I tried to take my own advice and apply it to your image. Let's see if this does anything of interest in balancing the tonal relationships.

layer 2 Hue/Saturation - Saturation -25
layer 1 Curves (masked by banana) - lows and highs boosted
layer 0 Background

It's a little different but not necessarily better ...
