I took an "experimental" shot, and I kinda liked it, so I took a few more.

Interesting? Any way to make it stand out more? Should I just drop it and go take real macro shots? Any CC welcome.

Pic 1 -- PP to sharpen a little
Pic 2 -- PP to crop, desaturate a little, sharpen and remove the "flash bounce" from the top of the cap.

Sorry IVIax, but there's just nothing here.

You said you kinda liked it. Think about what is it that you like about the image. When you figure out what it is you like, find a way to focus the viewer's attention on those features.

Thanks for your honest feedback. I'll give it some thought and may come back ;)

Yes, just drop it and go back to trying to get nice sharp pictures with plenty of DOF.
Most macro shots end up as documentation rather than interesting pictures, and very few ever make it as fine art.

Nothing really eye catching about this at all to me. I like the idea but I don't think it worked well on this example.

Eh its not really doing anything for me. I think if a little more of the bottle itself was showing it might work better.

Thanks for the C&C everyone.

What I was trying to go for was to get the attention to be drawn to the white square (the thing that when you open the bottle it breaks the seal -- the only thing really in focus on the image). But I guess I made it WAY too small, and the cap had the majority of the shot...

Back to the drawing board!
