Here in Sweden the legal age is 15 when it comes to *that*. I have no idea how I could sneak into pub's and bars when I was 16 (the age to buy beer and wine of the counter in a restaurant and a bar is 18 in Sweden), and when I turned 18 I had to show my ID all the time. I guess I didn't put much effort in "looking older" when I had hit the legal age to buy beer, but when I was 16 I did, so I could fool the bouncers to let me in.
Today I'm 42, going on 43, and been mistaken for 27 (that's a *big* difference and makes me happy each time someone is guessing I'm around 30 when I'm in fact are over 40).
My husband is 9 years younger than me.... in many ways he's more mature than I am, even if he's younger than me. So I guess I got what I deserved (now if I only had the same stamina as I had when I was 30).
Anyway... getting a bit off topic here... all magazines seem to want girls to skip their teens and become grown women, instead of being the age they are. Now that I've done it, been there and got a few t-shirts, I know that it's important to be your age. May it be 15 or 42, you gotta be that age too, or you miss out on important stuff.
Looking at photo's in a fashion magazine is not only fooling other girls, but also fools men, to think that these young girls are more grown-up and know more than they actually do. Maybe that's also why so many date rapes occurs, since there's a lot of mis-comunnication. "She looked and dressed like she wanted it", while the girl just thought that it's how you should dress and look, and had no idea what signals her appearance was sending out.
Ok, I'll ponder on this for a bit longer... hmmm....
