Odd AHCI/Mouse problem on waking from standby

I recently changed my Asus P5Q SE/R and XP SP3 install to use AHCI instead of IDE to access the hard drives, mostly because I wanted hot swappable drives. It partly worked, I can occasionally hot swap using a utility recommended here, but not always.

Anyway I rarely turn the PC off, I just put it into standby when I don't need it. Since I changed to AHCI about 50% of the time it wakes from standby the mouse doesn't work (fancy Logitech corded USB mouse). Unplugging the mouse and plugging it back in fixes it.

Does anyone know how to fix the problem properly?

PS2 mouse or USB? If it's USB, likely an issue with refreshing the USB controller, but not sure why that would happen.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

Nope, I just plug it in. I assume Setpoint are the Logitech drivers?

They are, should have come with the mouse.

It's strange that I never needed them before switching to AHCI in the bios. I'll give them a go this evening though. ta.
