Well, I would like to share my good news, on Monday, at 8:25am, my wife gave birth to our first child, a beautiful baby girl.

I am just truly blessed to have such a wonderful wife and precious baby.

For my whole life, I have thought of the moment that I will meet my first born, and let me tell you, there is no way to prepare, or nothing you can do, it is like an emotional freight train that hits you so hard, you have nothing left to do but cry like the newborn.

As I sit here and type this in tears, I just wanted you all to know how special it is to meet your baby, and for the fathers out there, you know exactly what I am referring to.

Thanks for looking, I just needed a place to share this special news.

I have many more images of her, but since time is of the essence right now, and all waking minutes are spent with her, this is the only one I have converted and saved.

Here is a picture of the little angel:

Chloe Sophia, 6lbs 12oz, 20 1/2" long....

Congratulations. She is absolutely beautiful. I know exactly what you mean. I am a mother of 4 children and there is NO feeling in the word like the day you welcome them into this world. Dont blink...they grow too fast!

I'm a daddy of 5, all under the age of 10, and I remember the day each of them were hatched, er, uh, I mean born. There is nothing in this world like holding your newborn. Just wait until they look at you and say, "daddy." It'll melt your heart.

Congratulations! She is a beauty! Be prepared to do a lot of holding, hugging, kissing, diaper changing, and baby talking. Prepare to lose a lot of sleep, time with your hobbies and money. :) But all worth it. I have 4 sons, and they are each a miracle and a joy. Of course, my best advice is take as many images as you can while they are little.

There's something wrong here. Surely she should have a camera around her neck - or at least a POTN T-Shirt?:)

Congrats.

Congratulations! She's a cutie. Take lots of pictures!

We're scheduled for a C-section two weeks from today. I'm looking forward to having a MUCH better camera in my hands this time than I did when our daughter was born June 2006. Not exactly any nice shallow DOF shots from that day. However, one of my favorite pictures was taken with a lowly p & s when she was about five hours old.

And, the mother of our daughter's little playmate down the street is having her second child today. I hope we can visit them this evening at the hospital and snap a few pictures for them because she has joked then when I have my camera around, she doesn't bother. Maybe I can practice for my first-day baby shots on their new baby. :p

I'm also hoping I don't do too badly on the "second child picture quantity drop-off."
