The 7D is an effort to get rid of existing parts that couldn't sell with the past cameras. It's a 50D body with a 14.7MP CCD (1/1.7"), a Digic2 processor, a 1.8" LCD, and 3 print buttons. The 28-105 f/4-5.6 will be packaged as the basic kit lens and the 75-300-III will be included in a two-lens kit option. All 7D kits will also include a dozen 32MB CF cards.

Something is not right...

The top doesn't seem to match the other image, I mean the 7d logo pic has a mic while the top has no video mode.
Can they market a 60D withuot video? Why would you buy it over a 50D?

I'm in catch22, not sure what camera(s) are they thinking of and not sure if there is enough room between the 50D, 1D and 5DII to make 2 new cameras.

plus that's the super obvious 7 chopped on a 5D image...

and yeah, those are all from when people were guessing the 7D would be what we got labeled at a 5Dii.

:D - honestly, with some of Canon's recent product decisions it wouldn't surprise me.

I thought I read somewhere the nickname for this body would be "Stew" ;)

The ergonomics from the 7D badge and the top-plate images seem to point to the new camera adopting the 1D-series design than any xxD or 5D type despite the built-in flash.
