I was going to dinner with some friends and saw all these hot rods in the parking lot, so I had to take advantage of the great lighting. So this is what I came up with (parking lots are tough to take photos in):).

What does everyone think of the 'half car' style, what should I improve for next time as far as composition, or anything else for that matter?

What does everyone think of the 'half car' style,

In #1, not much, unless there's some detail that you're trying to isolate. I can live with #2.

what should I improve for next time as far as composition, or anything else for that matter?

You were there for the best time of day for the nice light. Other than that, outdoor car shows are pretty much a crapshoot, & we'll give you some leeway because of the conditions. You just have to work with what's there in front of you.

I'm a full car shot man (aside from details such as badging/engine, etc) which is not artistic but good for archiving. Anyway, I do like your shots though (since they are not abstract)
