Here's one thing I'd do in post to help the sand blast shot...take a very soft edged brush, set the mode to darken/midtones, maybe 10% (play with that part) and darken the sand a little. Be sure your brush color is something reasonably close to the sand but a little darker. Change the brush color to a hard edged white brush , set it to highlights (or leave it at midtones if you prefer) and lighten the ball slightly. This should help that one just a touch imo.
