What a nice image? I wasn't aware that Finland had a population of Brown Bears.

Great shot! You must have had image stabilization because I know I would be shaking in my boots!

I think it was something like 20 meters...I was inside the hide, so it was not that bad. The hide has about one feet by one feet squared holes for cameras. One of the bears was sniffing the holes of the hide next to me - luckily it passed me hide from some six feet distance. Friend of mine was disappointed, he had 24-105 lens in his camera and he could not focus to less than two feet to nearest bear...8-)

Yeah, we do. Most of them are in very Eastern par of Finland, close to Russian border. This place is about three kilometers off the border. There are some bears in other parts of country as well. I saw one crossing the road about 50 kilometers from where I live.

What a nice gallery! And what a great body of work - quite diverse in terms of both subjects and locations. You get around!

Great photo. I've always been fascinated by brown bears since I was a kid and read tons of horror stories about people getting torn apart and surviving.

Big animals.

Thank you. bw!

Wow! Gorgeous shot, it's quite intriguing capturing an animal this powerful in such a calm and peaceful setting.
