Making 100 pictures 4x6's all at once. . .help!

Greetings my photo friends:

I just came back from a photo shoot and need to make all the images 4x6's and burn to a CD. I believe there is a feature in PhotoShop that will do that. . .can someone tell me how.

Also, this may sound lame - I'm new to the digital world and wanted to know how I can take a "group shot" with about 15 people in in a 4x6? The reason I ask is because usually 4x6 crops cut alot out. . .please help.

What camera are you using?

With the D-SLRs you will not need to resize it as the ratio of the image will be 1:1.5. So when you go to print out your 6x4 prints nothing will be cropped.

I'm using the Cannon Rebel, but when I go to the photo finisher I usually have them all cropped. This is just too many

Maybe I should ask the question. . .do I need to crop them myself or tell the photofinisher? Won't people be cut out of the group shot?

The sensor ratio is 3:2, the ratio of the 6*4s is 3:2 as well, so they won't need to be cropped. Also, you don't need to write files to a CD at a specific size, just write the JPG and tell the printer what size you want it, they'll do the rest. If your print service is cropping them then they don't know what they're doing, change print firms.

A group shot of 15 people in a 4*6 will make each head quite small, apart from that it's no different to any other photo.

Yep, 4X6 (or 6X4, whatever you prefer to call it) will come out fine if you have one of the canon DSLR's.


8X10's however will be cropped, if you decide to get any printed in that size. so make sure you crop those first.

I am not sure how badly 5X7's will be cropped since I have yet to get any printed.

You can create one action in Photoshop, assign a key to it, like F12, and then hit F12 100 times. That is how I do it.

Really? You sit there and hit the key how ever many times you need? Surely it would be better if you opened the browser in PS, highlighted the files you want to process and choose the automate process?

there are many free trials on the internet to resize and save photos although you don't have to do that in your situation.
