Hi All,

I am thinking of buying the SensorKlear Loupe & SensorKlear II by LensPen. Anyone use this system or have any knowledge of how good it is.

Cheers

I use them, they work pretty well. The Loupe you have to get at the right angle, but once you do it's great for checking things out. Honestly, if you can find a magnifying glass with a LED light on it at Walgreen's... it's the same thing.

I love the Pen.. it's great for using after wet cleaning to target those 1 or 2 spots that don't seem to want to come off. Never used it as the only solution to dust, though it should work pretty well.

I occasionally use a rocket blower and the SensorKlear. No complaints. I've never felt the need to wet clean a sensor.

Just got both. My loupe must be defective as the light is not bright enough to see almost anything, much less dust.

The pen leaves behind black carbon dots sometimes worse than the dust unless you tamp it on a microfiber cloth well before using.

My best results are still with Eclipse and swabs, but I am still perfecting my technique as there is still a small amount I just cannot get on the edges.

My experience is similar to yours.

Never used the loupe. But the lenspen, yes. Works as advertised and is easy to use as well.

I use the lenspen SensorKlear. I have a Delkin sensor loupe. I think it
is just as easy to shoot the sky at f22 unfocused and then put the card
in the card reader so I can see the image on the computer. the SensorKlear
works great, I use the Lenspen on all my optics.

I may not be the village idiot, but I'll do until
he gets here.

Try some new batteries in the loupe, mine will nearly blind someone!

You're supposed to spin the pen a few times in it's lid before you use it to clean off any debris that could be left on the sensor. That's always worked well for me, I haven't had a problem with it leaving black specks on the sensor as long as I spin it before I use it. YMMV.

That definitely works, but it just takes a lot longer to make sure it's clean. Plus, with the loupe, you should be able to see exactly where the dust is and be able to go after it with the pen. This can make it a bit easier, since the actual location of the dust is flipped upside down on the sensor compared to what you're looking at in the photo. Just my $0.02 :D

A question for the SensorKlear Loupe owners.

When cleaning your sensor, does the cut out of the loupe give you enough room to maneuver?

Cheers,

Anything that allows you to see the sensor dust is a good thing IMO.
I use the Sensor Scope kit. I really like looking at the sensor better than trying to see the dust with test pictures..bw!

I find the best way is to mount body on tripod and point to the floor. Using the loupe I walk around and look through. This gives me the best view. Yes the cut out gives you enough room as long as you have the correct pen. It pivots close to the end just for this. Both great products.
