Was back at the Airline HIstory Museum last Thursday night. They parked the DC-3 outside and we got some beauty shots after dark. Sure hope everyone enjoys them.

c/c Welcome

I'm trying to figure out which I like best.

If I didn't know better I'd say your at the Kansas City Airline Museum. My wife embroidered the seat covers for that DC-3. Each one has a different persons name and the TWA Logo on it.

I figured I'd better edit this post. I went looking around your websites. Didn't know you were from the KC area. Great shots.

These are very nice, & I wish you could have shoot a little earlier.

How much earlier? I have some in the early evening.

How much earlier?

Later than #7 in the gallery, but before full dark, so the sky would highlight the contours of the bird & still have enough light to outline the buildings with a long shutter speed.

Somewhere around this time. Notice the sky is still lighting the tug at the right?
Some ship shots!

Not quite as late as these, but notice how the sky still was able to put some highlights into the body?
Malibu in the snow.

All nice but the major issue in my eyes is the mixed lighting.

My brain can't meld the "cool" evening behind the plane with the "warm" sodium vapor lights coming from behind / camera right of your location.

There's a mood disconnect here somewhere...

The first ones are noisy and lack sharpness, but the composition is good.

How's this?

Well, now I'm liking the first one better because of the color of the light on the airframe. The sky that evening is all a bland blue & just doesn't the character that I would like to see. OTOH, the light on the pavement is better in the last one. Sometimes massive PP or a reshoot is the only answer.
