Whatever it was, it was content to let me stalk up to about 2m away (this is full frame) and let me snap away, run out of battery, go back indoors, change battery, come back outside and get up close again.

I think this is a juvie thrush, but my wife says Blackbird.

Please help me in proving her wrong....

Great photo! It's a young male Blackbird, just beginning to get some of its adult feathers.

I agree with Jack, nice close-up of a young blackbird. He doesn't seem to mind associating with stone/pottery toads. ;)

They can be quite tame, when they get used to you, certainly coming past MFD of a telephoto :D
