Hey, Yes! That is the card i have. The camera does take a little longer to boot up, but its worth it to have everything on one card. Everything works with it so far.

Oh thanks, in some forums there are several doubts on the usability of greater than 4GB cards on the 400D.
I'll buy it.
Ciao

I see the CHDK guys are discussing automatically turning on Mirror LockUp when you use the timer or the IR Prox and disabling it when you turn the timer off.

Now, I think thats a great idea.

I'm revisiting this thread since I got another XTi recently. I used to have one about a year ago (which I sold) and used an older version of the hack. This latest one is even better.
I think ISO 3200 coupled with CS5 or LR3 RAW processing and great NR is pretty usable. Here is an example after processing (I actually took this with my superzoom at wide open):

I'm using 8GB cards (Lexar) and 32GB (Sandisk) with 400D. No problems.

50mm, 1/200, f/4.5, +0.3 EV, pattern metering mode, ISO3200, manual custom white balance.
I used CS5 ACR for processing, NR in ACR and then also using the Reduce Noise effect in CS5 after resize.

Yeah, this was under my kitchen light, and it came out well.

Did you put +1EV for the ETTR (Expose To The right) in order to mitigate the noise?

No, just +0.3, a third of a stop.

Ok, I'm really lost. Sorry.
I have testfir, cardtricks145 and the renamed file autoexec.bin saved on my desktop. I read a few pages back that you don't need testfir.
Now what? In simple English please.

Go back to the first post. Its pretty plain

And you DO need testfir - to initially upgrade the firmware.

After the first installation, if you don't format the card, you can only add the last version of Autoexec.bin for any update.
