Quick question and poll on what you did when you bought your new pocket wizards,
did you buy all Flex's and use it as a transceiver or did you buy a Mini for the camera and Flex's to do the hob of the receiver?

At the moment I'm not really sure what to do, as people have said to me Flex's have better range. Then what's the point of the MiniTT1?

Any help/advice would be appreciated..

I should have mine today. I have ordered 2xFlex units to start with. I too had heard that there was roughly 20% range increase (which is important to me for my outside work) than the Mini. So since i was after 3 units, for testing i ordered 2xFlex 433Mhz units, and will decide from there.

The only thing i really like about the Mini, is it doesn't cover any of the controls on my 1D when i look from over the top of the camera.

I like the idea of the Flex units using a standard battery. Much easier to find when out on location in the middle of no where.

Will update after i have a chance to test my units.

I opted for the Mini TT1 only for the reason that I do mostly studio shoots. I have a pair of PW Plus II already and need one more to trigger the other strobe. I got the TT1 instead of another Plus II in the event that I need to shoot outdoors. I plan to get the FLex TT5 soon after I get my 5D so I can play around OCF and its ETTL feature. For now, it's just plain studio light triggering for me. :)

Thanks for your input! I will probably get the MiniTT1 as I really like how small it is. Although its only about $30 more for the Flex.

I voted Mini for camera, The footprint is nice and small compared to the flex. So nice on location with jostling the camera around, less chance for breakage.
