Pricing a sports team shot

I have the opportunity to do some team shots for a local youth basketball organization. They are looking for 5-6 group shots, for use on their website and to submit for possible news articles about the team and/or organization. I'm trying to determine what the correct pricing would be. I was thinking around $150-200 but I'm not sure if this would be way off, if this comes off good there could be the possiblities of work with other teams and orgs in the area so I don't want to undercut myself for the future.

I know pricing questions are cliche in the forum, but I would really appreciate any advice from those with experience.

Thanks
-Jeff

....anyone?

Also I'm trying to figure out what kind of releases I need to get from the players, and how to handle that. The players are teenagers, and probably won't have a parent there at the time. The shoot won't be for selling packages to the players themselves, but for the use of the organization they are playing in.

Any advice on how to word the licenseing for the photos, (ie. for the organization's promotional use, website, and when requested to send in for news media about the org.

I would believe the releases aren't needed because they signed up to be part of the "organization". The organization can take pictures of them if they want. When we took pictures for stuff when I was growing up there was no documents needed besides that between you and the org.

As far as pricing . . . for website and news articles (not selling to parents) then $200 doesn't sound too bad. Some of that depends on time but I wouldn't imagine it would take more than 2 hours of your time.

I'd ask in what format they would want it (disc, email, and size of photo). Also, for $200 for 6 teams shots I would just hand over full licensing to do what they need to with them but you retain the copyright so that you can use them for portfolio/showing on your website.

As it says in pretty much every pricing question on here you have to look at your area because it differs all over. If you charged that much here they would laugh and hire the guy for $50 down the road. If you charged that much an hour and 20 mins up the road they might actually pay it (rich neighborhood).

You don't need a release to do the photos, it would be the league if they chose to use them commercially that would need to obtain them.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to call the guy from the league back later today.
