Uhm... that's a Boeing 747. The tripple 7 has a 2 4 2 , or 2 5 2 seat configuration. This one is 3 4 3. On boeings, only 747s have that config.

Its a Cessna ...

I haven't had a chance to list it yet, but here's a quick snap. It's in user condition, but solid where it counts! (and only 126 years young)

Lucky I'm in sunny (most of the time) California.

My lens are "L" and are weather sealed (I think), but my cameras are not "1D series". Am afraid my camera will short circuit if I put it through what I see in some of these shots.

That plane crash looks like a nice sunny day - I probably would not survive that.

While I wouldn't stand in torrential rain with my Canon 20D and lens, I will say I don't shirk from a good photo opportunity. I have no problems in risking my gear to capture that special image. Insurance is a good thing.

Recently, I was an event photog for the 22nd Annual Damage Control Olympics here in Bangor, WA. Sailors from around the area gather to compete in events based on DC techniques trained by the Navy. This year was smaller, but the effort given was definitely not!

For the following photo, a team is charged with stopping the simulated flooding casualty by using strong backs and chain wrenches. Once all the leaks have been minimized their time is stopped. I was about 3-4 feet away and yes I was getting wet

Another angle:

Here, sailors are to simulate fighting a fire on a ship. Using solid stream on the fire hose, they simulate breaking up burning debri and then when they fill the barrel they are allowed to run in to "rescue" the injured man. I was a foot away from the bucket they were filling to get this shot angle. I imagine if any one of those guys didn't like me or messed up I would have been hit with about 50 psi of water.

Another event is the fire team "tug-o-war". Opposing teams attempt to push the center buoy to the other side to win the competition. This is a very safe and very boring shot:

Here is one where I might as well picked up the hose to help. And I was getting just as soaked. The only protection I gave the camera was my hand from the big droplets :D

And here is one from the front. My backside was getting nailed pretty good from the falling water:

These cameras are pretty tough. The only time I had an issue was during a pretty heavy downpour, I wasn't being careful and some water started messing up my thumbstick preventing me from using it properly to select my focal points. I let it dry and all was good. I have been getting better about keeping my surroundings in mind before I go do the above things. As long as your careful, one can successfully take pictures in these conditions. As I use weather sealed lenses, I usually let the lenses take the brunt of the weather to save both the camera and lenses. I figure if the camera goes, good chance the lens will go with it.
