I know, I have had this problem on the 20d, 40d and now on the 5dmk2 and I almost accepted it.
But…. On Monday I was in Gothenburg and passed by accident the Canon Service Center.

So I thought for my self, why not asking them if they have a solution for the problem (NOT WD40, tape or glue!!).
And yes, this was a known problem and they hade a replacement part for the whole CF door assembly which also solves the problem with loose fitting between this part and the bottom plate/battery.

So if you like me, get disturb every time you hear the squeak or feel the loose fitting, get it fixed.

While being there I also asked them about the ‘weakness’ on the ‘Quick Control Dial’.
Sometimes when I put my thumb on it for adjusting a value, it feels like it sag (I don’t know if it’s the right English word), feels like I can push it towards the back of the camera a little.
He told that all there reference bodies have the same issue and it’s so ‘by design’.
I would appreciate if some of you could check on your bodies and give me a comment.

And yes, I will go out and take pictures instead of thinking about it.;)

So wait... they gave you a completely new CF door assembly, or did they just replace the door on your camera with the same door, just a new one?

yes, the service order says:
Sparepart: DOOR ASS'Y, CF

And have a look at the picture, very tight fit between the door part and the bottom plate.
Feels solid as a stone.
