Hi everyone,
Rcecently I spent two weeks (working) on the Kahurangi coast. (Top of the South Island, on the west coast). It's a fairly remote area with access being limited because of the need to cross very dodgy tidal river estuaries.
On one of our 'free' days I managed to get several kilometres down the coast to try for some landscape shots. I was very surprised when I found a Chamois buck (male) high in some cliffs oer looking the sea. Surprised because Chamois are an alpine animal !! Also because the nearest known and recognised range of wild Chamois is tens of kilometres away. It's well known that bucks 'wander' a lot and do turn up in some very odd places. This is a classic example.
Matt.
