My first HDR - Yosemite

Ok, newbie here just starting out with HDR. In fact, this is a pseudo-HDR as I took one raw image, made three exposures, and then combined it. C&C appreciated.

Looks good, still seems to be some dark areas I would have like to see brightened up though. Not sure if it's from posting, but theres a significant amount of artifacting.

It was early and the fog had not fully burned off. It looked like haze. I tried to fix that PP and may not have done that great a job. Thanks for the input.

i've been to yosemite more times than i can remember and i can tell you two things:
1. there is almost always going to be dark shadows in these type of shots simply because of the nature of the land
2. it always looks hazy like that in yosemite valley.


Canon 5D3, Canon XTI (IR converted), 24-70 f2.8L, 16-35 f4L, 50 1.4, 70-200 f2.8L, 100 2.8 macro, 430 ex & 580 exII speedlights.

looks great! like something from Halo or some video game - desirable effect for a HDR, imo.

From what I have seen, it's not bad to have dark areas in a HDR - if you tried lifting those it has tendency to make the shot look unnatural / artificial. Having black areas makes a good balance for the rest of the shot.
