I have a friend that wants to trade me lenses and I wanted to see what people recommend.

I have the Canon 18-55IS. My friend has the Tamron 19-35. Assuming focal range is not a big issue, which one would you keep. He'll give me the Tamron 19-35 + $15 for my Canon 18-55IS

I already have a Tamron 28-75 f2.8 and a Canon 70-210 f3.5-f4.5. I got the Canon 18-55IS for times I wanted something inexpensive to carry around and wider than the Tamron 28-75

Any opinions would be great.

Keep your Canon 18-55mm IS. The Tamron 19-35 is not any better than the Canon. If you have a full frame camera, it may be a good thing otherwise NO.
I have both.

I would keep your 18-55 IS. Image Stabilization comes in quite handy.

There is only one 19-35mm f/3.5-4.5, the other one you mentioned is a Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4.5, the later is a good and modern lens.

Which Tamron 19-35 does he have? I think there is a 3.5-4.5 and also a 2.8-4

The 2.8-4 seems like a pretty good lens and probably worth a lot more.

There is no reason to trade unless you are shooting FF. 18-55 IS is a better lens and you have the Tamron if you need f2.8

Would you trade/sell both the tamron 28-75 f2.8 and 18-55is to get a tamron 17-50 f2.8.

I'll get the wide angle with the 17-50mm but i won't have coverage between 50mm-70mm.

No. The 18-55 is f3.5 at 18mm, so all you would gain is 1mm and 1/2 a stop. With the IS on the 18-55, you could likely take pictures in lower light with the 18-55mm than the 17-50 (At wide angle)

I would take the Tamron 17-50mm over the 18-55mm IS, anyday of the week !

2.8 all thru the focal range is a big plus ! I also thought the Tamron had better overall IQ . A much better in my thoughts.

But I don't know enough about the Tamron 28-75mm to comment on it.

But he already has the 28-75, which is identical to the 17-50 only longer. Keeping both gives him more options, IMO.

The 17-50m is also wider. I would at least sell the 18-55mm and pick up the 17-50mm.

Can't afford the 17-50 just selling the 18-55. I would have to sell both my 18-55 and 28-75 if i go the 17-50 route. hoping for opinions if I should do it or keep what I have
