85L vs 135L (100% crops)

85L is years better than 135L because that's my opinion :p. Questions?

85mm is not the right focal length for a tight headshot, you want to be at 135 or longer. 85mm is best full torso or more, ie something like this -

The 85 works pretty well for head shots on a crop but I do agree a 135 would work considerably better, even on a crop. On a FF I wouldn't and haven't used my 85 to get this close.

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

There's NO DOUBT when the 85 1.2 hits the mark, it's almost beyond compare.

But that's often a big if.

Again I state, if the lens was so good wide open and so reliable to give razor sharp shots, there wouldn't be so many for sale on the sell forum all the time.

I've owned both the I and II version and both were disappointing at 1.2.
