would love some advice from people are successfully making a living.
on how to break into event and concert photography?
I live in a pretty decent metro area with diverse music coming through.

how do i get my foot in the door.
I am not sure who i need to talk to. and really how to present it.

I am cool with knocking on smaller doors first. and the hopefully through my work and character other bigger doors will open.
thanks for any help.

Networking helps a lot. Finding a venue and talking to them will get you into some work. Having a portfolio geared toward the specific job will be a huge help. Try going to one of the events and shoot it. Show them the results... Word of mouth helps too. Pass out cards with a link to your online portfolio. There are lots of things to do...

I will e-mail the band's management, see if they have any additional press-passes. I shoot around Austin, and have only been turned away once.
