PS Elements doesn't recognize my 50D raw files?

I looked on the web site and it appears that it should see my 50D raw files, but will not download them, says they are either damaged or a file not recognized by Elements. What gives? Anybody had a similar problem? Thanks It IS PS Elements 7 version.

What version of Adobe Camera Raw are you using? You need to make sure you have the right version installed. You said you checked the Web, so you may know this, but the update page for Elements 7 is here:

It's critical that you follow their directions to the letter!

Saw that site, 50D is NOT on the list? Should I update even though it is not listed as one of the updated cameras? I just bought PSE 7 a month ago, have been busy and just installed it. Main reason I updated to 7 was that it was supposed to support raw for the 50D?

You should always update. You will get support not just for the cameras listed but for all previous cameras as well, including the 50D. It is a simple update, just one file that goes in your plug-ins directory, and is the key to Raw support.

Thanks, the new download worked, can now load the raw files into PSE 7...took me a while, bought a new computer and am also having to adjust to Vista....
