Hi,

I have an XTi with the kit lens and a 70-200mm L F4. On some images I can see a tiny red dot. Is it normal? Is it OK to post an image here so that you all can see it?

Thanks

On your LCD screen? It's the active focusing square.

No, on my monitor after I have downloaded the images.

Here is the image (cropped), the red dot is on the propeller.

Thanks

I have one or two stuck pixels in my 20D..I've learned to live with it and just clone them out via post processing..

You can shoot RAW and use pixelfixer or Adobe ACR or you can send it in to Canon and have them map it out. But, no guarantees another won't pop up again.

My camera developed a noticeable one under warranty and I sent it in and got it fixed, but it was quite a hassle. I probably should have just kept using pixel fixer.

Thanks everyone.
I will just keep using it. Seems like a shame as it isn't quite 2 years old yet.

I would be so pissed that I would take it right down and trade it in on a new 5D.

(I'm looking for an excuse : )

Yeah they are frustrating as hell, but one of the joys of digital. With film you got 24 new sensors in every roll! :)

Dead pixels are nothing to worry about,,either learn to live with them, clone them out during post processing or send your camera into Canon..

Compared to dust on a negative, dead pixels are only a minor problem.. Try spotting out dust spots on a 20x24 print printed for exhibition..

Funny, mine's blue, not red. Guess they're either Red Blue or Green.
