The trade is mt gripped 5D plus $1500 Can.

it sounds like an average price for for a used 1dmk3. i'd probably stick to the 5d for you though since you seem to do more studio work than anything else and the FF seems to be more useful than a speed demon. good luck in your deliberations though!

If you lust after the 1D AF, then by all means go for it. Judging from your work, the 1D3 isn't going to make your photos better. Micro-Adjust might be beneficial but it looks like your stuff is spot on.

The question to ask yourself is why does the other person want the trade? Maybe the 5D is the camera to keep.

Both Perry and I have forsaken the 1DIII for the 5D.

Personally, I liked the files coming out of the 5D better and as such could not see the reason for having a body worth 3 times the price (at the time). Sold the 1DIII, bought the 5D and 85L and put $750 CAD back in my pocket

If I was to list the people that should have an 85L, you would be on the top with Tiff right below you.

Hey Geno, where is me on your list?

Anyways, a couple of portraits of my son with the 85 f/1.8. The first one reminds me a coupe yrs ago when we took an overseas trip on a train where we had our own cabin.

Down near the bottom. I'd have you up higher on the 14L or 24L list though. :-)
