Hi There!

I switched from 40d to 5d a few days ago but I have a problem with blurry pictures,Actually its not badly blurred but not great too.I feel the shutter of 5d fires more powerful and that may cause it,Not my all pşcs are blurred but some of them are,did any of you hadthat problem too? and how did you overcome this?

I looked at the few on your flickr taken with the 5D. For the same framing, the 5D will have 1-1/3 stops less DoF than your 40D. You're shooting at f/1.8 and f/2 in the couple I looked at, and at those apertures you'll have very thin DoF at the lengths you were shooting, which can lead to OOF images. Stop down a bit and raise ISO if needed. After a while, you get used to thin DoF and learn how to control it.

Awesome! This is one of my favorites from what I have seen in this thread. I'm digging that shade of purple!

I've struggled with the same thing and have to constantly remind myself that my DoF is razor thin!

One I caught of my son the other day. The joy of trying to get a two year old to sit still for five seconds to do xmas cards.

C&C always welcomed

Very nice...wish you hadn't chopped his hands. And, maybe a touch too centered but it depends on your card template....all those things can be fixed.

Thank you for the feedback, the card template pretty much outlines his face so the hands won't be factor. I do wish they weren't chopped though.

Corey.
I love the red on red, but it looks to me like the red in his lips is just a little too boosted. If you could mask that and desaturate the red a tiny bit it would be perfect.

^ - 1/350 should be plenty fast for a 50mm lens, assuming your subject wasn't moving quickly. If that was taken with the 50 1.4 it should be sharper than that even at ISO 1600. Did you sharpen it at all in PP?

Is the focus OK here? Have you tested the AF of your 50 1.4 on the 5d?

How does it improve with a little USM?; I apply some sharpening to almost all my images, Canon actually recommends this.

I am sorry I didnt understand what you meant by "How does it improve with a little USM?"

I always did sharpening with my 40d and I thought 5d would be a lot sharper and I wouldnt need this,I think I was expecting to much,

Actually, the 5D tends to be a little softer straight OOC...
