Some say he likes full frame because it makes his lenses sing!

im leary of the 50L and went with the 50mm 1.4. they are very very close. read too much from people that were not pleased at all with the 50L. I would love to have the 85L but its out of the price range. obviously, i use the 35L a ton and highly rcommend it. my next piece of glass is going to be a 135L but too many things keep coming up thats keep me from getting it. i need a 5th ab light for my studio, just baught a boom and stand, and i just got 2 more pocket wizards. im getting nickle and dimed to death with these other items right now, but its needed. im going to be able to trigger 3 flashes, a 580 and 2 430's, after this week so for me getting great light on location has been the priority. cant wait for hs senior season and the off camera light set ups. the 135L keeps getting delayed:mad:. some day, hopefully this summer.

I chose the Sigma 50/1.4 over the 50L, after renting the L. There's just not enough difference (to me) to justify the added cost, and the Sigma shoots more like a 1.2 than a 1.4 in DoF. Plus, no focus shift to worry about.

The 85L is fantastic. I rented one, and I would love to own it. I chose the 135L instead, but it's significantly cheaper than the 85L, and has very fast AF compared to the 85, so that helped sway my decision. And, the 85/1.8 is no slouch. If it weren't for purple fringing, it would pretty much be ideal for the length and price.

Argh!!! Didn't know he was going to advertise it! :) I was going to surprise you guys.

Think I'm paying too much? It's a UT date code which will make it my oldest lens by far. There's another but you have to get him a 17-40. There's also a Sigma available locally here for $575 Canadian.
