Okay, decision time. Thinking of going from the 85/1.8 to the 85L. I shoot mostly from f2 to f/2.8 (with the 1.8 ). How's the 85L AF speed in low-light? I'll be using this lens during alot of dimly-lit events.

I also use the 85 for street photography and the 85L's AF worries me slightly.

Rumor has it...That's the downside. At f/1.2 it will be searching.
at f/1.8-~ it will be boss status and should be super nice :D

What's with the "big" avatar, Geno?

It started out innocently enough... :)

What's the deal with this place, Jay? Is it abandoned or is it a museum?

I moved almost 6 years ago and I heard since then it's gangland. Glad I got out when i Did

It's not so bad anymore. It was just a minor drug war and they've managed to mostly kill each other off. There's only been two murders so far this year in Vancouver.

Don't be getting an 85L for street! You want a 24. I've used the 85 a couple of times and it's nice but you get some compression and lose all context. As for low light focus, it's not fast at the best of times so YMMV.

Ill tell the wife "Marissa, it has to be like Geno's."

BTW....in case anyone cares....

My 2 AB800s and other assorted lighting goodies were delivered yesterday.

They are still in their boxes.

They will remain in their boxes at least another week.

My new glass will be here today.

It will most likely remain in its box another week as well.

I'm SO lame.
