I'm considering to buy a new one. Would be much easier ;)

Congratulations!

That looks like an HDR candidate. Get those clouds to pop. You're also leaning a little to the right.

thanks Geno. Gonna be the last photos I take with the 50 1.8 since I've got a 1.4 coming my way!

Sweet. I'm contemplating an upgrade on my 50mm because I need that focal length for a couple spots in my studio.

Well I figured I'd update everyone with my 17-40 drama. Just checked the code about an hour ago, seems to be working now. Phew, I was sweating all day! Thanks for the support guys. Now let's get this 17-40 all ready! :D

Good to hear. I may have missed this, but did you purchase the lens new or used? I'm looking at possibily picking one up locally. He's asking $625. But I could also get a brand new Canon 15mm fish for $605. Anyone have any suggestions? Is $625 a good price? He said it's like new but I haven't ask for the date code yet.

The Canon 50/1.4 has a suspect AF motor that's prone to failure. It's not ring-USM, it's micro-motor USM. Plus, you tend to shoot shallow DoF, and the 50/1.4 renders some pretty ugly bokeh, IMO.

Sigmalux is calling your name. :p

Yeah. No. I still use it plenty. I don't like like having to shoot from the bathroom.

Thanks Joe, Mike and Geno. I'm sure it's an awesome lens. I've been dreaming about it since I bought my 350D 3 years ago, so this is an exiting moment :)

I had the Sigmalux, when it was on...it made magic. It was hardly ever on.....meaning hitting the AF right...so I sold it.
