What about in low light though....Would it be seeking constantly or somewhat quick.
I might want to sell my 85mm f/1.8 because I don't use it at all.

Conor ill take it if you get rid of it.

Blasphemy, I prefer it aged a bit.....:p

You know it takes longer than a day or so for me to switch out bodies Geno, gimme a call Saturday....Shooting a friends band at a local club tomorrow night, I'll literally have time to unpackage the mk3, set my custom functions, strap on a lens and go shoot...should be interesting...Good thing it's not for $ :D

Matt? Matt? You there? I can't hear you, something must be wrong with your phone! :)

Thought I entered the wrong post....LOL
(The Sigmalux focuses fine in low light, now I would think the body you use would have a bigger effect than the lens, but I'm no expert....someone correct me)

The 50/1.8 hunted like crazy in low light, to the point where it was unusable. I'm not sure how to explain that, but the Canon 50/1.4 and the Sigma neither do, on the same 5D.

I'll trade you my 5D for your 1DIII. Mine still has lots of good shots in it. :)

Don't do it!

This thread is full of enablers.

Enablers provide a means.

Unfortunately, no one in this thread is offering up free lenses.
The people in this thread just plant the seeds.
that eat at your brain saying "you know you want that lens...$1000 isn't a lot of money...$2000 is chump-change...you can always eat ramen for a couple months..."

You shouldn't lose more than 3 pounds a week.

To swap a 1DIII straight across for a 5D I'd drive to Matt's house. :)
