Great shot. Geno DM wrote in post #8718519 Jay, you must have been standing right in the way! Nice shot. That guy in the front doesn't look like he has much room to move. My Thanks To All... Jay

The ones I saw today all seemed to measure over an inch of body length, not much more than that. Including the legs they are pretty large. Hope you can get a good shot of your local variety, looking forward to seeing it. Joe Ok. This was the biggest one I could find. I didn't look too hard. I'm guessing hes about the size of an open hand, finger tip to palm. The body is probably 2''.
these were real quick shots, obviously, and I didn't spend much time on them, simply because I couldn't stand looking at them for too long. Great, now there are imaginary spiders everywhere. 5d3 | 5d | 40d

The markings, as you said, are slightly different, especially the body color, but, the banding of the legs, the shape, real "cousins" that's for sure. Thanks for going to all that trouble. I will have to show this to a friend who is well versed with the little rascals. I don't know if she has seen the subset you have photogdraphed. Joe I actually did a wiki search on the species, and it seems they inhabit a wide area of the world, mostly tropical and sub tropical climates. Pretty neat. 5d3 | 5d | 40d

But, they do their thing, and, I am a devout coward when it comes to aggravating spiders, mean dogs, and 2 year old children. Joe Beautiful shots, and a sound philosophy! Michael Wells
