Hi all. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I normally use LR2 95+% of the time, but recently I've been reading Scott Kelby's CS3 book. I read the part about color correction using the curves dialog, ie setting the shadow/highlight/midtones using the eyedroppers in the curves dialog and I really like the results.

The problem is I rarely use PS, and I would like to to be able to do this in LR2. Is this even possible? Or is a round trip (LR--> CS --> LR) necessary for this?

That isn't really color correction, that is just assuming white is white and black is black. Use the whitebalance sliders and custom camera profiles in LR2 to get REAL color correction.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

I do use the white balance controls in LR2, but I don't get a good feeling with the whole camera profile thing. Maybe I just don't get it, but they do nothing but confuse me... I keep going between Camera Standard, Adobe Standard, and Camera Neutral, but I can't determine any science in picking one.

Right now, my bottom line is I feel like I'm getting a better final color using the Kelby CS3 curves method than I can get in LR2, and that isn't cool, because I don't want to be finishing every photo in PS.
