Somebody tell me why is it that turkey vulture shots are either hit or miss? It's such a pain in the neck shooting them, and it's a pain in the neck processing images of them. I can't decide if I like to shoot them or not. Anyhoo, here's a few muddled shots from the weekend. I did what I could. Comments and criticism are always welcomed...

The only stupid question is the one that goes unasked - Photographers shoot to thrill, not to kill

A tough bird to shoot in flight. I try here at the canyon when I have nothing else to shoot. Not a very pretty bird anyway! Keep shooting!

Thanks guys. Yes, I have dusty sensors. I usually clean them before going anywhere, but this past weekend was a real spur of the moment trip, so no cleaning. I've got a lot of shots that show dust, one body showed even at f/7. When I see dust at f/7, it's time to clean.

They certainly aren't the prettiest birds, but you have to admit that when you see a decent shots of the wings, both top and underneath, they are pretty cool. The color on top with a full wing spread is really nice. I kept trying to catch them banking, hoping to get a top-shot, but I didn't get very many.
