On the Great African Photo Safari this year we were very fortunate to be invited to the opening of a new dining facility and solar energy installation at Mlilwane, one of Swaziland's national parks. The King of Swaziland himself attended and spoke about the importance of wildlife conservation and the huge strides the country had taken. For me, the dancing for the King was a highlight of the trip and there was some tremendous drumming too. Unfortunately, the main audience only got to view from the rear as the dancing faced the King at the front.

This sure was a great event. Did you have an opportunity to discuss with the King himself?

Was a much bigger event that I expected and we were well away from the Kings posse. He was also very well guarded, as were all areas of the camp and local roads.

Yeah, he was pretty intense. They did a great job and the crowd loved 'em.

Agreed ... shame we couldn't shoot from the front as would have been awesome.
