Does anyone know if Microtek's ScanWizard Pro 7.6.2 works with Snow Leopard? I can't find it on anyone's compatibility lists. I bought 10.6 from Amazon, and it's on its way.

Lou

NOTE: Mods, please don't move this thread to the multi page Mac OS 10.6 thread. It gets lost in there. TNX.

If anyone here uses this besides me - It doesn't work in Snow Leopard. And, once removed, it can't be reinstalled.

Try the Image Capture application to see if it will work with your scanner.

It appears the SilverFast SE V6.61r2 works in Snow Leopard with my Microtek i800. Microtek has not yet answered either of my two emails, the first one sent 3 days ago. The SilverFast folks answered me within 15 minutes this morning.

Well, the folks at LaserSoft Imaging, the authors of SilverFast, are fantastic. Since there was a copy of the Basic SilverFast CD included with my scanner, when I bought it four years, they have upgraded me for free. Yes FREE. They not only provided me with a SN, but they upgraded me to SilverFast SE Plus. Great folks IMO, they have made a believer out of me.

And, no, I have yet to here from the folks at Microtek.

Got my official answer from Microtek late this afternoon:

"Dear Customer,

It will not.

Thank you,
Email Support
Microtek Labs"

After four days, a real terse answer, and nothing about any future upgrades???? I've used Microtek scanners for years. Guess I'll have to rethink the future.

I've used Vuescan for years. Here's a list of supported Microtek scanners (external link).

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Thanks so much for the tip, but as I said above, problem solved. SilverFast is working just great in Snow Leopard. I'm not that familiar with the interface yet, but as I use it more, I'm sure the familiarity will come.
