over here, we call them Bluebirds. Not very creative, but that's their name.:)

cheers for that nwyman,the original pic was posted on a bird site,i figured that due to the very large number of visitors to this site this would be the best bet ,you proved me right

Yep looks like an Eastern Bluebird, do not know there status where you are, they may have cousins of another name.

That's an Eastern Bluebird, and the picture would have had to be taken somewhere in North America.
