Canon pro9500 rebate - bad upc

I ordered a Canon pro9500 and T1i from Amazon.com last week. I was going to apply for the $500 combination purchase rebate.

I got the camera and printer delivered this morning. To my horror, amazon.com shipped the printer without any outer box and the upc is sort of messed up! Half of the barcode was rubbed/scratched off from them kicking the box on the concrete floor. I don't want to risk a $500 rebate so I want to make it as easy as possible for Canon.

By chance, does anyone still have a copy of their Canon pro9500 upc before sending in the $500 rebate? I just need to know what are the letters next to the "3298B002" under the words "proof of purchase" -- it looks either like "[AA]" or [BB]"? I want to "write" it in the rubbed off spots and hope Canon doesn't notice it.

Thanks.
:D

Yeah, hit up Amazon. that's pretty crappy of them to treat a fragile item this way.

Amazon, from my experience, is really good about returning stuff. I like their customer service. I haven't had problems purchasing or returning. Hope everything works out for you.

Yeah, i've actually returned an HDTV to them, and it couldn't have been a smoother process.

Rebate fulfillment firms are just looking for reasons to deny your rebates. Don't give them one by altering the UPC code. It will no longer be "original".
