The worst is Yahoo...I installed a program update yesterday and I made sure the Yahoo box was not checked...it installed it anyway.

Well, in a sense. But not media-worthy. Trust me.

BTW - we're dancing at MRF Oct. 17-18 for Scottish Weekend.

Then isn't your name missing something?

oh I WISH we could see it. Are any of the local photogs gonna go shoot you?

Dunno. Suzy mentioned maybe trying to make it Saturday, slipping away from soccer. They start the day with a cannon shot, so maybe Zane would be interested.

Shoot Jon, we won't be quite home yet, or I'd try to make our way down that direction too.

I agree on the various "toolbars". They invariably bog down the system and conflict with all sorts of stuff. I hate how every time you install software nowadays you have to uncheck that you want it.

I think that is one of the biggest frustrations....that crap needs to be unchecked by default and you decide if you want to install stuff that is not part of the program you are adding.

Are you talking about firefox there? If so, then I've never seen this thumbnail thing that you speak of...

I have it like Lonnie describes... not anymore now then Chris explained how to get rid of it! :p

Lonnie - that little pest of a problem is caused by Google Tool bar.

On the Google Tool bar click the little "wrench" icon on the right, and then unclick the "Enable The Google new Tab Page".

You should be good to go! ;)

You might have the Google toolbar hidden. Once you can see it, then the wrench is visible. Click on that and then go to the search tab. That's where the check box in question is located.

I launch a Search and Destroy for third-party junk when installing anything.

I generally do an install, then a reboot.

After reboot I run the new program once, then close it.

Then I run Eusing, then defrag and I'm good to go.

I'm a neat freak (my wife calls me "Felix Unger" ;)), so this keeps everything neat and tidy on the computer. Your mileage may vary of course.
