We are off to the grocery store, laters.
Glad to hear that Tas is doing good and gaining weight

Bummer John, that sounds like someone really dorked up. And you can so have the weather. I'll try to bring ours with us in 2 weeks, and I'll bring yours back with us.

How about sending it to us after you leave.
He is a cutie Diane.

So, we were sitting in our hotel room in San Mateo yesterday about 5:00 pm. Without notice, both TVs and all the lights on one side of the rooms (including the bathroom) go off. No biggy. We still had lights on the other side, and I didn't miss the TV at all. I used the time to take a short nap before supper. After about a half hour, Lois woke me up to inform me the rest of the lights had just gone out. We were now in total darkness.
We've had similar problems in the past, and always travel with a flashlight or two; we actually had three of them with us. Lois and her brother decided to walk to the lobby to see what the problems was, and learned there had been a transformer fire; the fire department was there. The prognosis was uncertain as to how soon we could expect repairs. Without electricity, the room was getting a little stuffy, and because it was an unusually hot day yesterday, there was no benefit in just opening the window and waiting things out. So after another hour or two, we decided that rather than sit there in darkness, we might as well pack up and head home. My brother-in-law stayed at the hotel since he had to be in the Bay Area on Monday. We just wanted out of there, so we packed (in the dark), loaded up, and headed home. I think we actually pulled out at 9:00pm. (Note: personal observation......laptop computers make pretty darned good emergency lighting in a hotel room once your eyes acclimate to the weird bluish tint everything takes on).
Normally, we would have just moved to another hotel, but there was a big football game at Stanford (Washington, I think), and as a result, every decent hotel in the area was completely booked.
Around 10:00, BIL called to say the power was still out, and he was going to bed, muggy or not. We were 60 miles down the road, and wouldn't have gone back no matter what he told us.)
Bottom line: We got home around 5:00 this morning after driving all night. I slept for about 4 hours, and here I am. Generally, I am dead from the eyelids down, but it's good to be home. The drive was actually pretty easy. Dollie gave us a little trouble, but it helped pass the time, and now, she's completely back to normal.
No idea when, if ever, they got the power back on. I will be on the phone with them today, and they will have a clear understanding of how we feel about the inconvenience. Yeah, it was not their fault, I'm sure, but I am not going to pay for a room we couldn't use. There will be a difficult negotiation, but I'm quite sure I will prevail.

GLad you got home ok Chief. I also hope that the hotel listens and refunds your money.

I have several shots that I want to show you guys later, including some Super Maggie flying shots

But I had to show you this one now...Sunny is on the left. K-Dawg on the right. See how his rear end is jacked up? Is that a "still growing thing? Or is he going to be like one of those weirdly proportioned dogs?
Isn't it a great photo of the two of them (it was nearly impossible to get them still at the same time)?

G'MAE y'all. Since I took a few shots today I thought I'd allow myself a fly-by. I even bought flowers to shoot today, but gotta have a tripod.
I may be related to Chief. . . seems I lost a tripod and a monopod in the move from emporia and the connector thingies to the tripod I have left in this last move.
Hugs to all.
Hi Wu.

Those flat stick rawhide treat thingies for the dogs have now been dubbed: Gas Sticks.
Good heaven almighty.
The only thing worse than a dog with terrible gas, is SIX dogs with terrible gas.
*GAG*
Sorry about that Cat. Hope they don't get anymore.

Please do ^^ that.
Anyone heard from Heather?
I am here, but not able to catch up that often (Were you able to talk to the hotel about placing things in your room?)
Belmondo wrote in post #8724966
Hi, everyone. I don't pretend to understand internet thingies. I only found you after going to Pete's forum, and seeing the ip posted there.
Oh well. I'm here. AND I HAVE BIG NEWS.
With the forum being down and all, I made the hot & sour soup, and it turned out really well. It is certainly as tasty as anything I ever got in a Chinese restaurant.
It took 3 days to amass the ingredients, around 3 hours to prepare everything and cook it, roughly 10 minutes to eat a bowl of it, and another two hours to clean the kitchen.
I'm not sure this is the best use of my time. Then again.......
If you enjoyed teh outcome, then it is always worth the time.
WOnderful flowers Paula.

Yeah.....(its the wine)....
Forgot to share that I got to show my dancer her proofs last evening...she and her Mom and Dad. They were thrilled....she was a little disgusted with her Dad though when he said he wanted a 16x20 of her NOT dancing.

Teenage girls...lol!
That is great news.

Another place to look is
Podsafe Audio
. There's a lot of great royalty-free music available there. I've used several of the songs on that site as background music for my own videos.
If we can arrange it somehow, I'd like to have Minnie meet Zoe, and see if they get along together. That might help me make up my mind.Who says so?

That was what I was going to say, because you never know if the kids will get along when you bring in a new kid.

We talk and text daily. She's fine and her mother is coming along well. She's back at home and is getting out some. Heather isn't able to get on the computer much as her father is using it for lesson plans and stuff. She's likely coming home Saturday.
Thanks.
I would have lost may patience by now and just told them to find someone else, even at the risk of alienating family, but that's just me. I like the idea of getting money up front. That might spur them to make a firm decision about a date, especially if there was the prospect of losing several hundred dollars.
Done and in my toolbar right next to the POTN button...
Thanks for posting an update Honey. Can you put in a bookmark on my computer for me?
I seem to be losing some of my multiquotes lately...but here is what I can remember
Nice big cat photos posted on Sunday
Terri your son did great job with the video
