The last 3 sets of family portraits I have done were with thus lens. I did a shoot today and the shots are great. The lighting sucks but the shots are sharp. I will try to post some shots when I get home in a week. In OK right now heading to TX tomorrow. Have shot a ton of shots on this trip and almost all of them with this lens.

LOL True, this is almost a must-have lens for crop-shooters, just like the 24-105 is on FF. My completely outdated Flickr

Is this true at all? I have never heard of that. The 15-85 is actually built better than most non-L zoom lenses. Can you post a link? Is this true at all? I haven't heard of any such thing. I've been looking at this lens for a while, and am considering trading my 10-22 for one. (I've only used the 10-12 mm end of it two or three times in the three years I've owned it.) I wouldn't consider the 15-85 if such rumors existed. dfarina Member 176 posts Joined Apr 2003 More info | I just got a great deal on one of these lenses, quite satisfied with it,sharper than the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 I ended up returning.Don't think the sharpness will come through in these pics after resizing.Pics are unaltered other than size.
