No, he used a Canon 500D close-up lens. (screw-on filter)

I upgraded about 18 months ago and love it .... got about another 18 months to pay for it through best buy three year no interest financing .... just picked up a 17-55 with the same deal this is the fourth lens i purchased through them with there no finance deal ..... the first was a 70-200 2.8 with I/S ... just paid off my 70-200 f4 I/S ....

There seems to be significant vignetting on your photos. Perhaps the one with the bird in flight was intentional, but I wonder whether others were as well. The 15-85mm is known for its high amounts of vignetting, but it can be fixed in PP and prevented in newer cameras like the 550D. If it wasn't intentional, do you have the peripheral illumination option enabled on your 550D?

It really is an outstandingly sharp lens with a great build and a very nice hood.

I find it to be just as sharp as the 17-55mm f/2.8 or the 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II.

Cant argue with you Mike, it is quite sharp, Very Nice Images.

I usually leave it on f/5.6 in Av and use what focal length frames the subject.
