IF YOU COULD AFFORD EITHER OF THESE CAMERAS... WHICH WOULD YOU GET?

i'd definitely keep the 5dii. IQ, iso control, and FF is better for me. I cant downgrade to APS-C anymore... though the 7d is filled with the bells and whistles.

EDit!
- 30 Fps is for 30p for video mode. LOL I hope you guys got that.. LOL

5D2 for me. Bottom line is picture quality, although the remote ettl capabilities and the 19 AF points have got me drooling.

EDIT: Also like the horizon thing-a-magic on the 7D.

its like 1ds vs 1d - we are talking about a new "level" of pro-sumer 1 with fps vs 1 with mp

I actually like the crop sensor of the 7D, along with (hopefully) good ISO performance, making it a superb camera for birding and wildlife. (8FPS!! :-))
On the other hand is the 5DII (probably) better for landscape photography, so i think it depends on the needs of the photographer to choose between these cameras.

Full frame is full frame, and I don't see that on the 7D spec list

Both. They both complement each other nicely.

I refuse to vote until Stealthy Ninja puts out the official 7D Poll...

Again, just like 1Ds vs 1D, but at a different level.

Full-frame, slow-shooting camera built for maximum IQ, versus crop-frame, fast-shooting camera built for action. Other features are roughly similar (although the 7D has better AF).

Full Frame is Full Frame, 1.6x is 1.6x, 3.9fps is 3.9fps and 8fps is 8fps. Not a very fair comparison. For me it's still 5D Mark II definitely.

Now that I've sold my 5D Classic to upgrade to 1DIII, I wonder if I should wait. Dang... I hate this feeling.

Now, I'm hoping Canon will release a firmware that has the video options found in 7D, that'll be awesome.

If the 7D had the 5D sensor and IQ, I would get in line to get one. As it is, maybe one day as a second camera.

Depends on how the 7D handles noise. There is absolutely no way to vote at this point. Would LOVE a 5DII, but would also LOVE the fps and AF points of a 7D... but what do the images look like? Can't wait to see.
