Seventy years ago today saw the start of World War 2. Perhaps it would be good to give that a thought during the day and reflect a little.

Seventy years ago today Hitler signed his Euthanasia Bill whereby people with disabilities were executed. One of the reasons why the world fought.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning.
We will remember them

Lest we forget.

There was a series on National Geographic last night that followed the camps and engineering plans behind them... bloody frightening to see the details and numbers uncovered just from the camps alone not including casualties in the war. I think I stayed up until about 4am watching the entire set just gobsmacked at the information I was not aware of before.

Over here, not surprisingly I suppose, we have quite a few TV programmes on this subject over the years.

Not too common on this side of the pond with Canadian programming until November when Remembrance Day rolls around. It was produced by the BBC and aired on National Geographic HD which we've recently had added to our channel list by the cable providers.
