You people have ordered something about which there is a great deal you do not even know?

What could possibly be a rational explanation for such behavior?

They have plenty of time to cancel.

But, now they are in line to get one... :)

Look in the dictionary under "Lemmings" :D

A few months from now, these same people will be the ones starting thread after thread bemoaning any problem this camera might have and denouncing it and Canon for building a "lemon". Every firmware update will be dissected endlessly, and 6 months after the camera's introduction there will already be threads started about "wish lists" for the 8D (or 7D MkII, whatever).

Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong

My husband pre-ordered one. He's interested in the HD video aspect of it. It was going to be between that and the Panasonic GH1, and since the 7D can shoot 24p he wants to get that so he can use all my lenses.

I'm just happy that 40d prices are now touching the $500 ranges.. So yes, please buy the 7d. I'm happy to buy an elcheapo 40d to help.

Pre-ordered this morning. The AF system is the deciding factor for me and the MKIII is out of my price range.

Its a camera what else is there to know, i did the same when the 5d came out a few years back. you got to remeber that the rants on this forum about focus speeds and pixel peeping - really has no relevant factor in real life but its fun to look at if that is of ones interest.

Something Fishy on the US Best Buy website. They're pre order price is currently $3999.99 US for the body but Canon's website lists a Suggested List Price of $1699.00 US for the body.
