I don't understand why BH needs to close online ordering for the weekend if they take say a Saturday off. The computer does all the work anyways, I can only imagine how much money they lose just by shutting down online ordering.

I hope Adorama being closed for 10 days is a typo. That would be some seriously devastating revenue loss.

Uhhh...I hope you guys can ship out all the cameras on the 1st then. lol

If we get them in on the 30th, it gives us Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to get them out - absolutely nothing problematic about that!!

As I said above, it's actually only 5 business days...

I was told that B&H was given approval by religious leaders to keep the web site open BUT they felt it wasn't right so made the decision to close it for holidays and also every Friday night/saturday. I admire their dedication to their faith, I wish I had the same dedication to mine.

Although I never had a probelm and needed to talk to their customer service, I'm now strickly an Adorama customer because of how their customer service handeled an issue for me.

I am eager to get mine too. I am going for a trip on Oct 16 for my sister's wedding. It would be awesome if I can get it by that time. But I placed my order very late ... I think my chance of getting it by Oct 16 is small.

Helen, sorry if someone has ask already, do you know how many units is Adorama getting?

I have to say this is the advantage of ordering from a small store, since i put my request in 3 weeks ago, as long as he gets as many as he ordered i am guaranteed one when they ship (i hope they get what they expect)

So while we are talking about customer service I have a question about Adorama. I am on the preorder list for the 7D and so I decided to go ahead and update my CF cards. I ordered a 3-pack of the SanDisk EXtremem IV cards. Unfortunately what showed up were 3 Extreme III cards.

I order a lot of stuff online and I can't remember a time when I've received the wrong item. So since this is completely their fault (I have the invoice sitting in front of me showing that I ordered and was charged for the EXtreme IV) I would expect them to cover shipping for me to return these cards and I would not expect any charges for the replacements. I wonder if/how they will cover the return shipping.

Anyway it looks like they are closed through Monday, so I won't likely have any response until Tuesday. I guess this is the biggest disadvantage of shopping online.

Vent over!!

Thanks,
Dave

Adorama is very good with returns and correcting mistakes. I bought what was shown as a Nikon mount lens and what arrived was a Sony mount lens. The return and credit was hassle free.

Hmmm... I can understand not reading my email until Tuesday, but requiring me to resend it Tuesday is a bit of a pain.

Response to my email.

"This is an automated response, please do not reply to this message.

Thank you for contacting the Adorama Customer Service Department. Our support center is currently closed in observance of the Yom Kippur Holiday. Our offices will re-open on Tuesday September 29th at 9:30 am.

Please note that due to the Holiday closure we will not be receiving this email. If the issue is still valid kindly resubmit the email when we re-open on Tuesday September 29th at 9:30.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding."
