You can just send the cards back by priority mail, you can print the postage online and drop them at the post office anytime over the weekend. Online priority postage can be insured up to $500.

Seems like it is pretty easy to pick up a 7D in the countries that have them all ready. They seem to have plenty with no real quick sell outs.If it plays out like this here in the USA there should not be any problem getting one.May have to try a couple stores but I think they are going to be plentiful.:D

Here we go with the profiteering on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com …91f6&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 (external link)

This is an authorized dealer in NY saying that shipping will be 1-2 days. So it looks like US orders should start shipping around the middle of next week.

I would have no problem paying a extra $100 if it made the difference between getting one next or having to wait 2 or 3 weeks.

I would, I'm cheap. :D Actually, I have a piggy bank that is almost empty and like most people I have a very long lens wish list.

Looks like B&H is now accepting orders..
....
Well, they at least have changed the item to show that you have the ability to. However, they're closed for Yum Kippur. So you can't order anything.

From their notes:

This item is currently not in stock. We are accepting orders and it will be shipped when in stock. Orders will be filled in the order they are received. Your card will be charged upon placing the order.

This rubs me the wrong way. They shouldn't charge your card until the order ships.

Hmm, not so sure about that.

The supplier I got mine from requested 35 from Canon (and that didn't cover all of their pre-orders), only received 10 and they all went straight out of the door.

Why? How many threads have we read on this very forum where people have put in pre-orders for the 7D at multiple different camera shops, and only have intentions of buying 1 camera. Problem is that they are taking up slots that OTHER paying customers would like to have.

Personally, I would rather ALL camera stores require that the cards be charged up on order for any pre-order, and that would stop this behavior.

Just talked to one of my local camera shops, in the US, and they are looking at getting the 7D on Tuesday / Wednesday.

I am hoping with any luck that my local Best Buy may get a few in then as well.

Valid point. I never thoght of that., But I was happy that Adorama isn't charging my card until they ship it.

Any word on Amazon yet? Put mine in right when they started accepting pre-orders on the 31st here. I know this is beating the dead horse but whatever. We do it all the time ;)

In fact, it's only really 5 business days + the 2 Sundays, ie, Monday - Friday (5th - 9th) as we are never open on Saturdays.

I don't buy it. This is very strange business model mixed with religion. Honestly, if not that 11% cashback I would cancel my order at Adorama and move to B&H or beachcamera.com Or to PMI on ebay.....
