Seems like it is pretty easy to pick up a 7D in the countries that have them all ready. They seem to have plenty with no real quick sell outs.If it plays out like this here in the USA there should not be any problem getting one.May have to try a couple stores but I think they are going to be plentiful.

So it looks like US orders should start shipping around the middle of next week. I would have no problem paying a extra $100 if it made the difference between getting one next or having to wait 2 or 3 weeks.

Well, they at least have changed the item to show that you have the ability to. However, they're closed for Yum Kippur. So you can't order anything. From their notes:

The supplier I got mine from requested 35 from Canon (and that didn't cover all of their pre-orders), only received 10 and they all went straight out of the door. Hey! We are accepting orders and it will be shipped when in stock. Orders will be filled in the order they are received. Your card will be charged upon placing the order. This rubs me the wrong way. They shouldn't charge your card until the order ships. Why? How many threads have we read on this very forum where people have put in pre-orders for the 7D at multiple different camera shops, and only have intentions of buying 1 camera. Problem is that they are taking up slots that OTHER paying customers would like to have. David (aka BigBlueDodge)

Personally, I would rather ALL camera stores require that the cards be charged up on order for any pre-order, and that would stop this behavior. Valid point. I never thoght of that., But I was happy that Adorama isn't charging my card until they ship it. Mike R

I don't buy it. This is very strange business model mixed with religion. Honestly, if not that 11% cashback I would cancel my order at Adorama and move to B&H or beachcamera.com Or to PMI on ebay..... 7D | 5D classic | EF-S 10-22 | EF 24-105 L IS | EF 70-300 IS USM | EF 85/1.8 | EF 50/1.8 II | Sigma 24-60/2.8 | Tamron 90/2.8 | 580EXII | 2x 420EX | 055XPro + 488RC2
