Wow I have the 17-50 and love it. I will take a 7D and the new IS version of that lens please. Perfect combo.

I've been interested in their 17-50 for a long while now. The addition of VC has me thinking about it even more.. Looking forward to seeing how it stacks up to the Non-vc model....

I thought that I read somewhere that it was going to be in the high $500 to $600 range.

I am very interested...The main reason why I've been drooling at the 17-55 instead of the Tamron 17-50 is because of the IS, but now the Tamron has the same features minus USM for half the price...

I'm also curious about the price, I doubt it'll be half, but it really can't approach the 17-55 either. Maybe $700 on the high end?

I'm hearing that it will be more like 2/3-3/4 of the price... but it's hard to say how the retail price will relate to the actual street price.

Will ear plugs make it faster and more accurate and prevent hunting in low light?

Is it really necessary to have IS in the 17-50mm focal range? It's not too hard to hold it steady at that range. Especially since the VC version will supposedly cost ~$750.
