Here is a little guy I took pictures of during my recent trip to French Guiana. Perhaps one of the most feared snakes of these regions.

It would be easy not to see. I assume it's pretty venomous, I am not usually frightened by snakes but I wouldn't want to step on that thing. By the shape of its lower jaw I think it might have really BIG fangs.

it is a viperidae, many accidents with these guys as they are so well camouflage, all over the place and very edgy. I quite honestly almost stepped on it, then it went and crawled underneath that log, I was very lucky to see it at the last minute.

But hey, you are in the land of elapids, so you are quite well served yourself when it comes to deadly venomous snakes!
